Default Pacifica enabled AM2 CPU/ Motherboard combination? - 05-21-2007 , 09:46 AM

I am looking for a motherboard/CPU combination that are pacifica
enabled in mother BIOS and CPU. If the board has onboard VGA that is
even better.

I have seem an AMD Sempron CPU 3400+ and Foxconn k8m890m2ma
advertised by Misco and I wonder if they are Pacifica compatible.

Is the Foxconn board well tested with a good reputation?

Is that a good combination?

Any AM2 socketed motherboard with an Athlon64 chip installed supports
Pacifica. Pacifica is not controlled by the bios, only by the chip.

AM2 Semprons do not support Pacifica, AFIK.

I don't know about Foxcomm, but
I have been using an MSI Neo-F with an Athlon64 3500+ in 64-bit mode
for 6 months with absolutely no problem.
I have not used virtualization because OpenBSD does not support the
virtualization hardware. I may try running one of the new Linux
distributions with builtin support for KVm.
