According to this cpu chart here http://www.amdboard.com/amdid.html, the Sempron 2400+ should run at 2000MHz. Every monitoring tool I've used says it's running at 1.67GHz. Is the chart wrong? Is there something special I have to do to get it to run at the advertised speed? I'm running this in a Foxconn K7S741GXMG-6L board. Win2000. |

I'm running this in a Foxconn K7S741GXMG-6L board. Win2000. The chart refers to Athlon CPU's, not Semprons. The Athlon 2400+ runs default at 2000MHz. If you want your Sempron to run faster than the default, you have to increase the FSB speed or increase the multiplier, or both. If you provide the actual part # on the chip and the 4 digit date code in the last line of the label I can give you some kind of idea of your options. There's more info in the CPU link below. |
