Default CD-RW - 03-24-2007 , 02:40 PM

Have an InCD with a bunch of family pictures that all of a sudden wont load
the last 6-8 pictures. These were the last ones I added & when it gets to
them it freezes up & the light on the front of the burner just continuously
flasher real fast. Any hope of salvage on these as I wasn't smart enough to
save a copy elsewhere .?? Thanks Gimpy

The best bet is to try another drive to see if it can squeeze out the
missing media. In the future, you may not want to rely on the most
fragile and least reliable format known for optical discs. (Much
information is available in the usual references: the CDR FAQ or the
primer at my WWW site.)

(What's the InCD full version number?)

Save all the files you can read. Try the disc on another burner. Try out
these and see what they say about recovery chances:

CDRoller
http://www.cdroller.com/

IsoBuster
http://www.IsoBuster.com/

(In the future, never in a hurry when you use InCD. Always wait until
previous operation finishes -- drive activity light stops blinking --
before accessing the disc.)

BTW, when Mike Richter was shitting for Take Two, supposedly a BACKUP
software, it must use the supposedly "the most fragile and least
reliable format" - according to none other than Mikey - and that's for
it to work IDEALLY, no less !!

For Take Two to work IDEALLY, your drive MUST support
PACKET WRITING and you must have DCD installed...to do it.

You may back up ...to a DCD-formatted erasable.

Thanks guys. I lucked out & just waited for the CD to get past the bad spots
( took some time ) & was then able to quickly copy just about everything to
the hard drive for the time being. Lost just 4-5 family pictures & can get
my niece to resend me those as they were recent & she will still have
copies. Thanks for the programs tho, I'll keep those around... Gimpy...

Yes, the FAQ says that a Mixed Mode disc
is written in a single session.

I don't doubt it...but it conflicts with

other information I have gleaned from
references

:O) Sometimes patience can resolve these things, but it is always
handy to have a fallback.
