Default Help in Burning CD - 04-28-2007 , 10:20 AM

This has to do with the format of the audio cd I am trying to
burn......
I had to do a system restore on my XP and then I restored the original
applications on it.
(I never had a problem before burning CD's in the right format where I
can play it on my stereo afterward.) But now, when I try to burn an
audio cd, it records it in a format that is not playable on my stereo.
Is there a setting that I need to change somewhere? Would appreciate
anyone's help.

You'd be more likely to get a useful answer if you provided some useful
details. We're not mind readers, you know.

What program do you use to burn? What settings are you using? What kind
of files are you trying to burn? What format is getting burnt to CD?
What error messages are you getting? What have you done to try to fix
it already?

We're left to guess - which is not much fun and not very productive.

Take a look at the disc in Explorer. If you have files (WAV, MP3, etc.),
then you burned a data disc, not an audio disc. If you have .CDA "files"
then you tried to write audio but something else went wrong - you'll
have to give us more information for us to help. The way to get an audio
disc depends on the software you are using to master it.

You may get help by checking one of the usual references: the CD-R FAQ
or the primer at my WWW site.

I use either the Windows Media Player or Real Player that is on my XP.
I copy the music from the CD into a playlist and then I burn it from
there. I can play the burnt CD on my computer, but when I try to play
it on my stereo, it won't play. I don't know much about burning audio
cd's, but isn't all music in an audio format already? And wouldn't it
save as an audio into my playlist and then from there to the cd?
