Default Burning a Video_ts folder? - 03-28-2007 , 08:15 AM

I have a film that's already been broken into pieces, vob's, bup's & ifo's.
I've no experience with trying to burn this format to a disc to watch on a
dvd player, I've only worked with avi files.

In total there's 38 files in the folder which create the one movie, file
size 3,84 gb.

As far as burning programs go , I have Nero, Win avi, VSo + Tmppg.

Is this a simple operation to do?

Thanks
D.

Hi Dan,

If you have VSO CopyToDVD just open the Video_TS folder and hit the Burn
button. It's as simple as that.

Very easy with Nero Burning Rom. Just select DVD video option, select all
vobs, bups and ifos and ...burn
jacques

Strongly recommend a two step operation.

1) Use the freeware DVD Shrink to view the open the VIDEO_TS folder
and view the video/menus inside. Click Backup and select the create
ISO option. This will save the image to a .ISO image file.

2) Next use the freeware ImgBurn from Lightning!UK to burn the DVD.
Make sure that no other apps are running. Recommend to burn at 4X
with verify on.

DVD Shrink is available from www.mrbass.org.
ImgBurn is available there or from www.doom9.org.

Cheers...

Mark, are you aware that ImgBurn can make an ISO from a VIDEO_TS
folder and then burn? It does so commensurate with its author's
nick;-0)

BTW, I encourage all to use ImgBurn and all users of ImgBurn to
make a modest PayPal contribution to its author.

I am aware but have not used it for that, I am ashamed to say. I have
been ISO'ing with DvdShrink for so long, with such good results that
it is just now a matter of course. And, out of habit, I still mostly
use L!UK's DvdDecrypter for burning the ISO to disk.

That said, I would certainly use the ImgBurn to create ISO images and
burn dual layer DVD-9s, although I still find them too pricey and
incompatible for my needs. I keep an eye on them though, because they
will get cheaper and newer more compatible players will continue to
replace the older models.

Cheers...

Mark

Well, using Shrink makes sense if you have to compress the files to fit them
onto a conventional DVD. That's the main virtue of the program. But the
original poster apparently didn't have any compression issues, so in that
case either DVD Decrypter or ImgBurn would seem to work.

True enough. But for making an ISO for a DVD-9 I suspect that ImgBurn
would be best for making the .ISO image.
