Notebook to LCD TV??????

Hi,
I downloaded TV series in xvid and avi on my notebook, they play fine, If I
run an S video cable to my LCD TV will I get sound as well as video, or will
I have to go for the computer to monitor cable.

Either way you also need to run a sound cable.

Either way you also need to run a sound cable.

Dave is correct but just to elaborate.
An s-video connection only carries a video signal, it is not designed to
carry audio.

dont forget you have to switch the video out over fromthe laptop to

Thanks for your help, the thing where I was misled was that the some of the
new format were with ac3 sound incorporated in the video, when I encode and
then burn, the audio folder was always empty and I just moved the video file
over, therefore was under
the impression that the video contained the audio.

Simple mistake for q newbie.
