When I set the processor to 133 to get the full speed of the 2400, Windows XP loads shows the desktop and then hangs while it is loading god knows what. I did a clean install on a bare drive and still had this problem. At 100 the bios lists the processor as an XP 1800 and XP loads and runs fine (using it right now actually). But I bought this to get more speed than the plain old Athlon 1.4 I had in my old machine (which had a regular K7S5A). Any suggestions? Power supply is 350W no name. ATI 7500 All in Wonder Video Card 512MB of 133 SDRAM SB! Live value card Firewire Card 2 DVD Drives, 1 HD, 1 Floppy I've read that some of these issues relate to power supply problems but there's not a lot of stuff in this machine. Thanks all. PS: Replies that I should have bought an Asus board or something else is not helpful and I kind of already suspect that anyway. |

The K7S5A series boards can be very power hungry and your generic unit is probably not providing sufficient current on each rail for your setup. Try a QTEC 550w Gold PSU. |

I have a 300w enermax. No problems. My CPU is a 1800+ which uses alot less power that the 2400.
