Default Please help! K7s5a pro with AMD 2400+ - 10-09-2003 , 02:08 PM

I am starting to think God hates me.

Everytime I try to set my speeds to 133/133. Everything seems fine.

Then I will be doing something in XP like extracting an iso or copying
somethong over the network or even just surfing and *poof* reboot.

If I drop the speeds back down to 100/100 everything is solid.

Oh I am using 2x512 pc2100 DDR. My second set because I thought the first
brand may have been the problem.

I also already replaced my psu with a good 350w one and installed a system
fan to cool everything down to elimate the chance of overheating.

This leads me to believe it's the motherboard.

Now I am hoping that I just need to flash my bios but to be prefectly honest
this terrifies me.

Can someone please recommend the exact bios I should use to resolve this
issue. Or anything else I should check.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Switch off the stupid XP re-boot if error found.
My Computer/Right click/Properties/Advanced/Startup and recovery.
If you have no other problems it's just XP being a,"Nanny".
If you wish to track it down clear your,"Events" log and start
checking using the Event log viewer.
Also install one of the HoneyX BIOS and O/C to 138/138,

Thanks for your help Shep

I used the latest Honey bios and o/c'd to 238 like you said and everything
seems to be going great. Why does this board have problems letting me use
133/133?

Dunno.Mine was the same and @ 133/133 it kept disabling my DMA on my
hard drives.I suspect it's a wrong PCI speed on some systems @ 133/133
