Hmmm. Is it complacency, or lack of capital?

AMD (and nearly everyone else knew) that it didn't matter if AMD had
the most wonderful processor in the world if they couldn't make enough
of them. That means putting capital into manufacturing capacity.

Now it doesn't matter how many processors AMD can build if no one
wants them at a price that allows AMD to be healthy and profitable.

You can only draw to an inside straight so many times and stay in the
game.
