Interesting.
Downloaded the new one and it shows my FSB as 2025.0.
I'm running an E6600 at a mild over clock of 3037.3 as shown by windows, and
my BIOS screen, and versions 1.38 and 1.20 of CPU-Z.
What's with that?

FWIW, on my Asus P5N-E Sli, both 1.39 and 1.40 report accurately in all
fields, as far as I can tell.

I'm using the same MOBO as you, Phil, (EVGA 680i) but with an E-6600. I just
got this system together last week and have been using Intel's "Thermal
Analysis Tool", and CPU-Z 1.40, among others, to do some overclocking. It's
a 2.4 gig chip with a multiplier of 9. I set it to 9 using "auto" and also
manually but CPU-Z would report it as 6 and a lower freq. as well. When I
put a load on it with "TAT" it would go to 9 and the correct freq., which
would bring it up to the 2.4 gig speed that it is. I figured that it was
throttling down while under low usage. I went back into the BIOS and made
sure that Intel SpeedStep and CPU Thermal Control were both "disabled". I
finally noticed the "C1E Enhanced Halt State" setting and changed it from
"enable" to "disable". That did the trick .... now CPU-Z shows the
multiplier as 9 and getting the full 2.4 gigs of speed at idle or under
load. Hope this helps. P.S. Have you tried out the new P-28 BIOS
yet?
