Hmmm, that doesn't sound right. Perhaps something's getting tired, it should
be 3.3V
An MMX chip will only run in a board that can provide the split voltage,
with the 2.8V 'core' voltage. (To this day Motherboard Monitor's default
'dashboard' has two readings for 'core', usually core1 and core 2. That goes
back to the Pentium MMX days.)
The only way to know if your board supports them is if you can see a set of
jumpers that seem to relate to this feature. Some other brands of CPUs
required different 'core' voltages, from 2.2V (later AMDs) through to 2.9V
(Cyrix/IBMs).
However, your board may just have the option for MMX CPUs, the 2.8V. Or
(more likely) it won't support MMXsplit voltage at all. If there's something
that looks like a model number on the board feed it into Google and see if
you can find anything out.

p.s. im gonna overclock my pentium 133 2 nite just to see what she can
do. if the mobo pukes the chip, o well! its a better reanson to get a
new one! |
Hehee! Good luck.
