Default A real overclocking question - 02-26-2006 , 06:57 PM

Since this is the overclocking forum and I do have a good overclocking
question for the crowd, I am looking for opinions on my latest overclocking
"pre-order" I would appreciate all constructive replies...

AMD Opteron 165...to be OC'd to at least 2.5ghz
DFL Lanparty NF4 UT SLI-DR
Zalman CNPS9500
2 x Raptor 150GB 10K rpm drives (SATA RAID 0)
Corsair XMS 2 x 1GB 2-3-3-5
XFX Geforce 7800GTX 256MB GDDR3 PCI-e

Anyone see a problem or recommend a better setup for the money?? I don't
want to SLI at this time. Thanks again... Heywood

Thanks for the reply but with only ONE post on your forum, I'd have to say
the wealth of knowledge might not be there.........

I think if you intend to run your OS on the RAID settings, go for
smaller Raptors. Cos I have 2 74GB Raptors (147GB) myself and saving
them for the OS and Programmes is really quite a waste. So... Buy the
large raptors for storage and for video editing purposes. In the end,
it's the speed that matters, not the size. Save the size for something
else, i.e. storage and video editting. I hope that helps...
