Default System can't boot - 12-20-2005 , 03:55 PM

Hello,

I own a Gigabyte 8I955X Royal with an Intel D840EE and two 512 MB
CorsairCM2X512A-5400UL DDR2 RAM.
They are tested to run at 675 MHz at latencies 3-3-2-8 at 2.1 V.
My M.I.T settings are
Memory Multiplier 3.33 i.e.667 MHz
DIMM overvoltage +0.3V
Latencies as above.
Twice I could get the system work (for some hours), but after Power off and
Power on I have to clear the CMOS, because otherwise the system can't boot.
It seems to me, as if the system resets some setting on startup.
Does anyone know which settings I have to adjust additional to make system
work stable?

THX
Stephan

Use the default settings for the BIOS (except for peripheral setups.)
You haven't said anything about your CPU, but if you are trying to
overclock, read some of the guides posted lately in this newsgroup.
Everything should be done step by step in small increments, starting from
the default speeds and voltages.
