That's part of the reason why it's useful to keep drives
running long term rather than only a couple years... Take
an old, low powered system, throw a IDE Or SATA controller
card in it, and RAID1 or 5 all the old drives. It makes
less sense with small drives but a few hundred GB has uses,
even if not for bulk multimedia/video.
