I bought a HP pavilion dv6108nr laptop featuring a fast cpu, a intel integrated video card that can share up to 128M video ram. When I work home, I usually hook a big sony 21" GDM-5410 monitor. I want to go to 1880X1400 @85HZ(I found this information on the web), but the biggest I can go is 1600X1200 (AT) 85 (DOT) Can anyone help me go larger? |

You can only go as high as the monitor supports. If 1600x1200 is all your monitor can do then you'll have to replace it. |

The Intel integrated video is too underpowered to handle higher resolutions. Integrated video is rarely a good choice. (It consists of a $10 chip on the motherboard. ) Time to install a separate high quality video card, if you want to run high resolutions on an external monitor. |
