Default beeps during early boot phase - 02-27-2005 , 11:09 PM

I have a 5 year-old Aptiva E-series 520 running Windows98. It's used by my
kids. All of sudden, it started to beep (non-stop) during boot phase before
the OS is loaded. Once OS starts to load, it stops. I did not notice any
other problems or performance issue with the computer. Does anyone know
what is causing these beeps and how to fix it?

Yeah. Lithium would be overkill for a BIOS
battery.
