I finally got ahold of an old IBM Model M. When I connected it to a PS/2- USB converter and plugged it in it worked fine, but when I boot with only the Model M connected I get a no keyboard detected error from the BIOS and booting halts. How do I fix this? You have to enable USB devices in the BIOS in most computers. |

The keyboard isn't recognized until the OS is booted. Lilo doesn't even see it, which sucks since I need to boot a different than the default kernel. It's a pretty old machine. Could it be that the BIOS just isn't able to recognize a USB keyboard. I don't have an actual USB keyboard to test it with. What sort of machine is it? If it's that old doesn't it have PS2 ports? |
