Whenever I depress any key on my keyboard, I get a loud beep and nothing else. This is true for every key -- character, shift, Caps Lock, etc. It used to be that if I shook the keyboard, the problem will go away for a while, but now even that doesn't help. I've also tried rebooting, and unplugging and replugging the keyboard. What is the problem? Can i fix it, or do i need a new keyboard? |

The important question is whether the fault is upstream or downstream of the KB connector, i.e. (case A) the fault is in this single keyboard or (case B) the fault is in your motherboard. You can easily test this by plugging in a KB that is known OK (from use on another similar PC.) |
