Netvista 2284 Motherboard -

So it seems that the motherboard in my IBM netvista 2284-45u is shot. I am wondering fi anyone knows what motherboards might be compatible to replace it with? I am having a tough time finding out. thank you! |
take a meter stick to your board. Possible matches
are ATX, mATX and microATX.

Thank you for all the help! Now Im assuming that if I'm putting in a new motherboard, the chipset doesnt really matter? Does the socket type matter? As far as I know microATX is basically the shape and size of the motherboard. So will any microATX motherboard fit in my case? Sorry Im new to this but Im wondering if all microATX's have the ports on the back in the same location or would I need to find one that has the ports in the right location so it would fit the back of my case? Thank you! |
I guess the most important thing is finding a motherboard that my
processor fits. Which makes me wonder, is it my motherboard or
processor that is shot? Any ideas on how I can determine which is
shot? or if both are shot?

performance class actually costs enough to justify the trouble.

Thank you! Ok, I see that you can get backplates for them so that they will fit. You get the plate with the mainboard. Tha is a general ATX thing. I guess the most important thing is finding a motherboard that my processor fits. Which makes me wonder, is it my motherboard or processor that is shot? Any ideas on how I can determine which is shot? or if both are shot? Firsth you should determine whether a new processor in the same performance class actually costs enough to justify the trouble. am confused.
Also the light comes on, onthe motherboard so I am assuming it is just
the processor thats fryed.

could be so low that it is not justified trying to save either.
