i purchased a new hd and want ALL the files from my old one transferred

to the new one, what is the easiest way to do this?

Easiest option should be to add the second disk to the PC and
then usa an imaging software to copy the original disk over.

Acronis True-image.

The previous version often shows up on magazine cover disks and will
certainly do what you require.
