Default Porocessor ID Question - 03-30-2005 , 12:46 AM

Hello from the Eighth Doctor
I have here two Pentium processors, and each device has on it these numbers,
A80502120 --Is this one a 120 Mhz one, or another 100Mhz job?

A80502100 --Is this definitely a 100 Mhz one?

The Intel site does not say which. I'll trade any of these for a 200Mhz one.

Also I have here a Pentium MMX job, the manual for my Tyan S1468, says the
jumper settings for that will be released on their website. This is for the voltage
regulator settings. Its currently set for a Pentium 100Mhz unit, the one I bought for
it.

.... and I'll trade you my $10 for your $20. :-)

This is the manual:
ftp://ftp.tyan.com/manuals/m_s1468_100.pdf

.... and the jumper settings:
http://www.tyan.com/support/html/j_s1468.html

I'd be wary of the published jumper settings in that last link.
Something doesn't look right to me. For example, it seems odd that
both J36 and J40 would need to be ON to select a core voltage of 2.8V.
I would have guessed that only J40 would have been necessary ???

If you wish to overclock (to 233MHz), then I would try selecting a
3.5x multiplier by setting both J32 and J33 to "open", and J24 to
"1-2" (FSB = 66MHz).
