I am having a strange problem with a Belken USB to PS/2 Adapter. (Part # F5U119vE1). http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProdu...duct_Id=156482 When I plug a PS/2 mouse into it, it does weird things in Windows XP. I have tried several different mice, and the ones that cause the most problems are "microsoft for Gateway 2000" mice with center wheel. What happens is that the left button does not register sometimes when I click it, and the right button sometimes clicks all by itself. Sometimes when I left click, it registers as a right click. My hardware is a Dell D510 Latitude laptop. The problem is not as bad with a black "microsoft for Dell" mouse that I have. I have also tried a two button Compaq mouse, and it seems to work fine! I think that just buying a USB mouse would be a better solution. Not sure how good these adapters are. Is it a problem with the adapter itself, or is it something specific to the Belken? Maybe even something quirky with this particular combination of mice, adapter and laptop. I read a post somewhere that said that these type of adapters can often be problematic. Anyone else ever see this kind of strange mouse behavior when using a USB to PS/2 adapter? |
