Hi,

I have an NEC Fe991sb monitor, and recently it has been having
intermittent failure where the screen is blank and the front LED blinks
out the code (per the NEC-Mitsubishi tech support site) for "beam
protector action".

I called tech support, and the guy was very nice but didn't know what to
make of this. I searched google and I can't find anything on "beam
protector" and monitors. So, can anyone give me any information on what
this is? Should I be concerned?
