I believe I understand why it's better in theory, yes. AFAIK, it's
mainly that the individual coaxial cables can be made larger, which,
along with the BNC connectors themselves, makes it easier to control
the impedance through the length of the cables.
I also know that, in practice, BNC cables are often no better, and
sometimes even worse, than regular VGA cable. They are poorly made,
so that their theoretical advantage is not realized. Really, the most
important thing is the cable's quality, not it's configuration.
