Hi, I would appreciate some guidance. I have an oldish Intel D850MV motherboard which I believe has an AGP 4X slot. I need to run a Windows XP application which requires Directx 9.0b. All the video cards I've seen which say they support 4X/8X are only DirectX 8.1 compatible whilst all the ones which are DirectX 9.0 compatible say the requirement is for a motherboard with an AGP 8X slot. Can I buy a DirectX 9.0 compatible AGP 8X video card and slot it into my AGP 4X motherboard? I know I wont get the full 8X performance but for it just to work would be fine! Thanks. |
