I have a 5-1/2" lcd tv screen (Dinky DK-X568) that used to be in our van before
it got junked. It's the perfect size for a monitor for my firewall PC IF there
is some way to hook it up! It only has a single cable, with a 4-pin mini-din
female connector on it; looks just like an s-video connector. This cable needs
to carry both the video and the power (12-volt dc) but I can't find any details
on the monitor except for one website that is in Japanese.

Anybody has any suggestions about getting this connected to a video card?

actually people who speak both English and Japanese and who might
be able to figure something out.

It's probable that what you've got IS a proprietary mod of the S-Video
connector pinout. On the standard S-Video connector, pin 3 is the
luminance video signal, pin 4 the chroma, and 1 and 2 are grounds.
If I were going to modify that for this sort of use and had to carry
+12 VDC, I'd run a composite video signal on pin 3, put the +12
on pin 4, and possibly separate the "ground" connections to be separate
power and video returns. But I sure wouldn't want to try that by
applying +12V to a pin that I didn't know for sure wanted it.
