My daughter's W98SE, [mostly Sony Vaio], PC has a Compaq V50 monitor &
is too shakey to see well enough to read in DOS or Safe Mode but once
windows is completely launched, it is fine.

I've tried all the different refresh rates listed in the Display menu
['Default, Optimum, 56, 60, 72, 75, 85] and none *seem* to make any
difference. It is hard to tell because it seems to randomly get
better & worse.
the card is a Matrox MGA 200AGP - 8MB video memory; Software vers.
4.0.

She keeps it set at 800x600 if that makes any difference.

There is a small refrigerator in the room & I wonder if that is the
cause of the interference-- but wouldn't that show up in Windows, too?
