Default Viewsonic LCD Monitor problem - 04-19-2006 , 12:50 AM

Hi, I have a problem with my monitor, a Viewsonic VX900 LCD. Here's
what happened.

There was a storm the other night and it caused the power to flicker.
When the computer came back on, the monitor screen was all white. When
I tried to press any of the control buttons, the message read "power
button locked" or "OSB locked". I hooked up another monitor to make
sure that it wasn't a hard drive issue, and it wasn't. I tried
reloading the Viewsonic software. Again, no luck.

Any advice? I've never heard of monitors getting fried during a storm.
Is that what happened? Thanks.

(p.s. -- I sent Viewsonic a message 24 hours ago, and I'm still waiting
for the response.

Try turning the LCD off at the back of the monitor. Wait 15 seconds then
turn it back on while holding the down button and power button on the front
of the monitor. Till it comes up. Or it might be the up button and the power
button combination..
