USB problem with MSI 7030 k8n Neo Platinum -

I have just had an older dead motherboard replaced with one of the above. I had to reload WindowXP but am having boot problems related to USB. I can't find any specific drivers out in "Cyberspace" so I wonder where to go next.
The machine gets to the Booting Windows XP window OK, but in the transition to the Login window it dies and just sits there. I discovered that if I unplugged my ADSL modem (showing two green LEDs already), the machine would burst into life. I also had the reverse happen - with no USB connections made it wouldn't boot - plug in the ADSL modem in the dead state descibed and away it goes again....
The board is supposed to have 4 USB ports on the back and 4 others. When it does boot, one of the connections on the back (all straight off board) is completely dead, hence my suspicion that all is not well with the drivers. Having said that, the Device Manager does not show any problems with the USB devices and channels, though I still think it may be running soomething to suit the old motherboard, rather than the new.
Anyone got any thoughts on this ?? |
