Default advice on the best tools and connectors to terminate my own cables - 01-16-2007 , 07:17 PM

Hi

I'd like to hard wire my home by running CAT5 cables.

These will need terminating and I've read numerous articles about using the
best crimp tools and connectors you can afford - but one of them mention any
brand names or suppliers.

So I'd appreciate your recommendations for the best type of crimp tool to go
for, which makes of connectors and suppliers. As they say I only want to do
this once so I want to do it right.

I live in the UK.

Thanks for your time.

Ian

Hi Ian,

You are right you should go for good quality Crimp Tools - I use
Elpress or CK do a good quality Cat 5 Crimper.
I get them from a site that specialises in Crimp Tools at
www.thecrimpcompany.com or see the Elpress site at www.elpress-uk.com

Hope this helps

Monty
