Default 16bit vs 32bit PCMCIA cards - 11-04-2003 , 02:15 AM

I know 16bit cards work with 32bit slots, what about the reverse? If I put
a 32bit card into a 16bit slot (older notebook), will it work?

I'm about to buy a 32bit network card, but I'm not sure about the slot in my
notebook.

Thanks in advance.

32bit pc-cards will not work in 16bit pc-card slots.

In fact, not all 16-bit cards work in all 16-bit slots. There are some 3.3
V-only 16-bit cards that do not work with older PCMCIA slots (and they
shouldn't fit anyway).
