Default SRAM under XP - Initilization issue - 11-04-2006 , 05:37 PM

Hi,

I have an embedded application that runs under XP and is using a SRAM
PC Card.

I have battled through many PC Card driver issues and such and have the
card working fine with the following exception.

When the card is either re-inserted or when the PC is powered down and
rebooted, I am getting some Data write to my SRAM disk that is being
made by the OS.

The odd thing is that this data is written to my disk without any
regard for my existing data and thus trahing some of my data files.

It is like it is being written to a certain disk location each time.

Is there anyway to prevent this or maybe a Registry setting to change
the location of something to maybe an unformated partition?

Also, I have bought and tried a 3rd part package CardWare and
CardWizard, these packages enable "Hot Swapping" which solves this
problem, However, with these packages my application data is not being
written to the disk in a timely manner as when I have a direct card in
the PC Card slot.

Any help will be much appreciated, thanks

cannot the SRAM card be write protected? Usually there is a manual
switch...
