Default Using PCI based chips for Cardbus? - 03-29-2007 , 07:57 PM

I was under the impression that PCI interface chips/bridges can be
used for cardbus but now I'm not sure. I'm waiting for Volume 9 of the
spec but all of the PCI devices that I have seen used in Cardbus have
a Cardbus mode also (this is a similar question but more general than
my previous post).

Also, one PCMCIA card I looked at has 2 devices on the PCMCIA bus. I
can't find anywhere in the spec where this is either described as
allowable or illegal but I suppose from a software point of view it
could look like a multifunction device if the devices allowed
strapping for decodes of CAD[10:8] other than 00. Electrical is
another matter although PCI at 33Mhz is fairly forgiving.

Thanks
