Default One device driver for all digital cameras searched - 03-04-2004 , 07:52 AM

Hello all,

I am looking for a device driver for MS Windows compatible operating
systems, which covers a large quantity of different digital cameras
(older and newer, different manufacturers, etc.). May somebody help?

Thanks, Sven

You didn't tell us which version of Windows you're using. If you are using
Windows XP, it includes the drivers for most current and recent older models
of digital cameras. If you are using Windows 98SE you will probably have to
load the camera manufacturers' drivers for each camera. Anything older than
Win98SE has problems with USB ports, and is difficult to use with a digital
camera.

Hello Don,

thank you for the reply. Yes I know about the problems with different
MS operating systems and different digital cameras. There is a company
which has to support different cameras on MS Windows OS. On W95 they
can install USB support by using a service pack, XP and W2000 are
supporting USB. But they do not want to install hundred of camera
drivers. Newer cameras will be supported as USB mobile memory/disk,
but older cameras running with proprietary drivers. I heard that a
software exists, which supports many cameras, but I do not know the
name. Other proposals welcome.

Thanks, Sven
