Default Flat Screen Monitor - 10-15-2003 , 08:37 PM

I sent this query to another group but it produced no useful response. Can
someone here help?

I use WIN-me and 98 for many things, but also use a DOS program within
windows for wordprocessing. I am looking for a flat screen monitor which
will work at lower resolution settings (as well as at high res) which will
not produce a tiny DOS box -- that is, I want to fill the screen with DOS
text, just as I do my "regular" monitor. Can anyone suggest a flat screen
brand and model wich will meet both my DOS and windows needs?

Thanks in advance.

By "set-up option," do you mean during the install procedure, or after
installation by going to control panel when in use? All the computer stores
I visited are in the dark about this! The best they can show me is a tiny
dos box. So where exactly can I find this option? Is there something I can
look for in the specs that will tell me whether the monitor is capable of
this before I purchase?
Thanx again.

If by "flat screen" you mean LCD, the answer is that most will
do this. Indeed, every one I've used has a setup option
(usually the default) to expand text mode to fill the screen.
The downside is that the expended characters aren't always
particularly clear.
