Default Help with Logitech cordless mouse on old Mac clone - 09-14-2003 , 10:36 AM

I just bought a Logitech Click! Plus optical cordless mouse for my
PowerTower Pro 225. It's a clone of the Mac 9500. I have a Belkin USB PCI
card and use a Belkin 4-way hub. Installation went okay but here's the
problem: When the puter is booted up the mouse only works in a default mode
- slow scrolling with no acceleration and only one of the many buttons
works. If I unplug the USB connection and plug it back in, the puter
computes for a couple seconds, then the mouse works fine with all buttons
functioning properly. I have to unplug it and plug it in again every time I
boot up.

Logitech tech service sent me an email with a list of things to check, and I
tried them all - clean install the software, make sure I have the Apple 1.41
USB controller extension (I re-installed it), bypass the hub and connect
directly into the USB card, etc, etc. Nothing seems to work. I talked to a
live tech rep at Logitech and he was baffled too. The remaining proceedures
are to install on another computer and verify that the hardware is okay; and
test for conflicts with other extensions.

Has anyone seen this problem before?
