Default Help with Okipage 6e - 10-31-2004 , 11:06 AM

Last spring I purchased an Okipage 6e printer on eBay. It worked
well for about 6 months. But recently I had a paper misfeed, and now
the light in the right rear corner flashes rapidly rather than staying
on. I have checked for another paper jam, but find none. I checked the
manual on the Okidata web site, but it is no help. I downloaded the file
from the Okidata web site to get the DOS control panel, but when I try
to install it, I get the "Insert Disk 2 now" message. I tried adding
a "Disk 2" file to the folder, but no joy.
Can anyone help me out here? What does the rapidly flashing light
signify? Any way to download the control panel? When I first installed
the 6e, it grabbed the HP LJ4J drivers, which worked fine. Should I
try to change the drivers to those D/Ld from Okidata page?

of spam that I might miss the reply. (well over 100 per day). And please
put the Subject: line in caps to make the message stand out.

I am glad to report that I have solved my own problem; finally
got one response to the previous post, which contained some interesting
information, but already solved the problem.

I removed the drum assembly and found a loose piece of rubber,
might be a footer or something; it was about 1/32" thick, and about
1/2" x 3/8", with rounded ends. It was lying loose under the drum
assembly. Upon removing this, and replacing the drum assembly the
printer was again operational.
