Need (FAST) external harddrive recommendation for video editing

Hi, I've got a huge project ahead of me, transfering about 40 home
videos to DVD, and need an external HD, as my current HD isn't
sufficient. My only concern is speed really. I want to be able to
capture straight from Adobe Premier to the drive without dropping any
frames, which I am able to successfully do with my current internal
maxtor. I'm looking at either the EZQuest Cobra Firewire 120gb or the
Lacie D2 firewire 120gb. Both seem to have gotten good reviews, and
are within my budget. Are either fast enough, and if not, what can I
get under $220 that will be? Thanks to any help
