Default installing an additional hard drive - 01-04-2004 , 09:23 AM

Hi everyone, and a very happy New Year !

At this new year time, I am trying to extend the life of my 5 year old
Windows 98 PC, by adding it a second hard drive. The store told me I
could only do it via a PCI controller, which I bought and installed
(driver + Setup). Unfortunatelly my installation is not complete, as I
cannot see my new hard drive in 'My Computer'.

What I can see:

my Windows 98| Configuration Panel | System | Peripherals | SCSI
controller shows my new controller (ITE IT8212 ATA RAID Controller);

similarly, ... Peripherals | Disk drives show my new hard drive under
the name ITE Disk Array 1.

As you can see, I am not very technical. From what I hear, I should
somehow define a partition, format that disk, assign a letter to it
etc.

Many thanks in advance for some help.

Have you gone into the "BIOS" or Setup screens to verify it's there??
