USB Scanner and Digital Camera Problems

I recently reformatted my hard drive and reinstalled Windows ME.
Suddenly, my scanner, and 3 digital cameras no longer work. They are
all USB devices, they all are from different companies, use different
drivers, different software. Also, all other devices,(including USB
devices) still work. Does anyone know what could have caused this? I
get errors like 'the device cannot be found'. This error, and similar
ones occur with all imaging devices. Any help would be appreciated!

If your computer is infected by a virus , then this is what you will
get.
Computer or the OS can't recognized the devices properly.
