Default Mouse woes - 03-29-2005 , 06:27 AM

I have had a Micro wireless keyboard/optical mouse (mouse is USB) combo
for about a year and a half. It's worked pretty well, although there
have been times that I had to re-synch the signal every half hour or
so. Since moving away from cordless phone base, this has stopped being
an issue.

The latest nuissance is much more troubling. The cursor stops
inexplicably, and I actually have to click with either the right or
left mouse button to get it to "let go" and keep moving. There is a
scroll wheel, also, and sometimes I break the spell by rolling it just
a little. If this just happened once in awhile, it would be bad enough.
But over the past couple of days (the whole thing started about 4 days
ago)it is so persistent that it renders copy and paste almost
impossible. Sometimes even the click function will not work.

I have run my anti-virus, spyware killers, tune-up tools, reinstalled
drivers, dowloaded new drivers from the manufacturer, to no avail. It
just gets worse and worse. I am in a quandry, and I am about to call
the tech medics and part with $75 just to get it dealt with. What am I
missing here? Has anyone had this? I have Windows XP Professional.

Thanks,
Don
