Any keyboard you buy today will be compatible with any system you buy
today, almost certainly. Some keyboards use the round "keyboard" socket
and some use a USB connection, but any modern motherboard can deal with
either, unless it's a particularly strange tiny one that only has USB
sockets (and I don't actually know of such existing).
Also, any keyboard you buy is going to get sticky and gummed up if you
drop a can of juice into it. If you want to not worry about that, you
can get a clear vinyl keyboard cover that will protect it -- in which
case, you probably want to find a source for the covers and figure out
what keyboards they fit first, and then buy one of those keyboards.
Note that this cover makes the keyboards somewhat more difficult to type
on, however.
Beyond that, "best" is usually a matter of personal preference; go to a
large computer shop that carries many different keyboards and try some
out, and buy one that has a good "feel" to it. Figure that you'll
probably get what you pay for in quality, too; cheap ones, in my
experience, seem to universally not last as long as the more expensive
ones.
