Default Best 19" Monitor? - 12-12-2003 , 05:46 AM

Dear all,

I have a 14" KFC monitor (didn't know KFC did electronics!) (~ 13" viewable)
at the moment,

and I think its about time I upgraded! I decided against TFT because the
technology is still new

and there are still some bugs that need ironing out, like colour range,
response time, DVI standard

etc.

I would like your opinion on a decent 19" CRT for me ( budget ~£300), I have
compiled a list of

"good" monitors please feel free to coment on it, or add to it.

NEC MultiSync FP912SB

Spec:

.. 18-inch viewing area and .24mm pitch
.. 1920 by 1440 resolution at 70 Hz refresh rate
.. Up to 102-Hz refresh rate at 1280 by 1024
.. Three-year warranty

.. Flat Diamondtron aperture grille tube

Samsung SyncMaster 957mb

Spec:

.. 18-inch viewing area and .24mm pitch
.. 1756 by 1317 resolution at 70 Hz refresh rate
.. Up to 89-Hz refresh rate at 1280 by 1024
.. Three-year warranty
.. Flat shadow mask tube

Iiyama Vision Master Pro 454

Spec:

.. 18-inch viewing area and .24mm pitch
.. 2,048 x 1,536 @ 80
.. Up to 89-Hz refresh rate at 1280 by 1024

.. Three-year warranty

..Flat aperture grille (Diamondtron M2)

I am bit concerned about the thin line see on Trinitron based technology
ie.(Diamondtron). Thats why I am partial

toward Shadow mask technololgy.

Any advice will be appreciated,

Nigel.
