Default USB mouse installation in win98se - 12-30-2003 , 07:50 PM

USB mouse installation in win98se:
Its a Creative USB, wireless, optical mouse.
I have managed to reinstall the USB drivers on my machine which I got from
www.driverguide.com, I am not 100% certain this was necessary but at least
win98se now says it has the right drivers, instead of asking me to insert
the windows CD and then going "HUh? -why have you inserted the windows CD"
(or words to that effect) when I do.

How can I get my machine to ignore the PS2 mouse
and start using the USB one?
If I unplug the PS2 mouse it just says it has no mouse, and the stubborn
stillness of the pointer would seem to concur.
I have no intention whatsoever of deleting the the PS2 drivers, oh no, not
me.
I have tried creative's website for support but they seem to think problems
with this product are impossible.
I have pressed all the buttons on the mouse and wireless receiver and now
its getting on my tits.
Help?

Have you tried entering the BIOS setup and disabling the PS2 mouse function?
