Default use for ghost ships - 11-12-2003 , 09:11 AM

Does anyone here find it serendipitous that we have these 50-year old ghost
ships, or hulks, coming here for decommissioning, while at the same time we
have a huge shortage of prison space? I wonder how many prisoners could be
accommodated on each ship? Just a thought, leave it with you. Doug

Perhaps not ...

1) some ships HAVE been converted into prisons.
They're probably permanently docked for cheaper operation,
but being out as sea does reduce the chance of escape.

2) just as there's "Monster Garage" the TV show that turns cars into
unlikely machines, perhaps we ought to have "Monster Computers"
where old computer parts are used for unusual things.
It doesn't take many 8 inch disk drives to make a shed,
or Dec Vaxen to make a garage.
I'd adore sculpture contests to use the AOL cds and tin boxes!
