HP Laserjet 2100 Manual Feed Question

Hello, I am having an issue after upgrading my OS to Windows XP from
Windows Millenium. In Wordperfect, I was able to print Checks(letter
size document) and legal size documents to the manual feed tray and it
would default there for both. For other letter documents, it would
just print from tray 2 which was correct.

Now, with XP, I set tray 2 to letter size and tray 1(manual feed) to
unspecified and this allows me to print legal size documents to the
manual feed, but any checks I print default to the 2nd tray. No matter
what options I chose, I cannot seem to make it ask me which tray to
print to or default to the manual feed tray like it used to. Does
anyone have a 2100 out there that could help me out further.

PS. I am using the PCL6 printer driver as the XP default driver was
too basic.
