Default HP 6210 OfficeJet PSC - 03-22-2007 , 09:47 AM

I'm recently experiencing problems with one of my "wonderful" HP
products. My printer is giving me a message of CARRIAGE JAM. I've
performed all of the troubleshooting steps that the tech.'s gave to
me. They tell me that I need to service this piece of garbage, but do
not give me any place in my area that services HP printers. Any
suggestions?

Is the carriage actually jammed? Check by turning the printer on, when the
carriage start to move unplug the mains cord and then see if you can manually
move the carriage all the way left and right, if you can't there is an
obstruction.
If you can move it OK then try a very small amount of light machine oil on the
carriage bar.
If that doesn't fix it there may be an electronic failure.

Is it under warranty? Doesn't HP do advance exchange any more? Mike in
Ohio
