I'm having a terrible time with this thing... We bought a new hp laser 1320 tn. We have it on a workstation. The 1320tn has 3 trays. We'd like tray 2 to print reports and be shared as //work8/tray2. We'd like tray 3 to print forms and be shared as //work8/tray3. I know this can be done, but getting help from hp is like pulling a universe through the eye of a needle. The software we use does not access the windows printer dialogue to select the tray. It just let's you enter network shares for various receipts, reports, and the like. We had this same scenario working on an hp laser before. I tried installing the driver twice, but the pc always detects that the printer is the same one, and won't install. Any ideas? It's a usb printer. I understand about setting the tray and type. But what I don't understand, is how to share the printer twice on the network, to allow different features for each share. by which I mean share 1 would access tray 2 and share 2 would access tray 3. |
