Epson CX5400 purge pump broken?

I previously had the purge tubing come loose, as many have described.
I put a bread tie on it and all was fine. Now it is printing blank
pages again. When I listen to it trying to clean, I hear a sucking
sound coming from the pump (I think). Am I correct that the pump is
actually just a section of the silicone tubing with rollers squeezing
on it as they turn? Is it possible that the tubing is ruptured inside
the pump? If this is the case, where can I get replacement tubing?

Well, it's fixed and I just wanted to follow-up and let others know
what I found. I didn't find any leaks in the tube but it was loose
from the channel just outside of the pump housing. This allowed the
tubing to move inside the pump and somehow the tube was dispaced and
it no longer acted as a pump. I just made a neat loop against the
inside wall of the pump housing and put it all back together. The
green stripe will help you position the tube so there is no twist.

Yes, the suction pump is as you describe. It is like a small milking
machine, which uses a pump with cam projections on it to pull vacuum
through the tube.

Make sure the tube hasn't again detached from under the waste ink
cleaning station.

As I understand it, the tubing is a silicone type, and unlikely to
rupture, but also relatively replaceable with similar components.

Compass Micro in the US may have some parts, but it may be easier to
find a similar tube more locally.

Thanks for the update. I have heard of a few of these case, rare as
they are, it is good to know what problems manifest as they do.
