What are people's recommendations on paper for the best photos? I really like the nicely textured not-too-glossy look of some prints I've seen from professionals. I'm about to purchase an Epson 4800, and I think there's a deal where they give you $300 of paper for free after a rebate, so I want to choose some great paper. |

Large computer stores have that hard-bound sample book of all the Epson papers, with great photo's on each sample. The salesman told me that Epson only ships those sample books to dealers. I tried ordering that sample book directly from Epson. Stupid me, @#&!*# Epson sent me a sample book all right. Blank papers in book, no photos. Grr Mark- -- P.S. - A lot depends on how the print will be viewed. In a setting where you can control the illumination 100%, you can get by with using the glossiest of papers, for blacker blacks and brilliant colors. Anywhere else, you have to worry about reflections off the print. |
